Our mission is to help improve the health of the community one person at a time.
Durgin Pines is conveniently located in Kittery just off the turnpike between York Hospital and Portsmouth Hospital. Strategically affiliated with local physicians and healthcare organizations, we offer 26 mostly private rooms for rehabilitation patients and 55 rooms for long term care residents, including a secure dementia unit. Our professional staff is fully licensed, certified and meets all state requirements. We also offer a 16 child daycare center that provides an intergenerational program for all patients and residents.    
 
We have developed a unique system intended to streamline the period between the hospital stay and living at home that includes:
 
   
Pre-admission screening at the hospital bedside to assure the best match between needs and services provided
An efficient, streamlined admissions process coordinated by a trained nursing professional
Follow-through support services, including home evaluations and home exercise programs
     
Discharge planning by a licensed social worker

  Durgin Pines is the crowning jewel of the collective effort and creativity of Bill Gillis and Joe Hogan with over 59 years of experience taking care of the aging, these businessmen spared no expense to ensure the security, comfort and well-being of their clients. Bill Gillis has been in the health care business for over 35 years. His first project, in Auburn , Maine , was the first state-of-the-art geriatric facility to be built in Maine , and one of the first in New England.
 
Today, Clover Manor, Gorham House and Sentry Hill stand as an example for other providers, and enjoy a sterling reputation as the region's finest provider of health care services for seniors.
 
 

     

Joe Hogan   joined with Bill Gillis and Ward Hand and in 1989 to create Gorham House in Gorham, Maine. The three of them went on to create Sentry Hill in York, Maine. Bill and Joe are the co-owners of Durgin Pines.
